Pairwise Co-founder and CBO, Dr. Haven Baker, was appointed yesterday to serve a two-year term on the USDA Fruit and Vegetable Industry Advisory Committee (FVIAC). The committee advises the Secretary of Agriculture on issues affecting the fruit and vegetable industry, including how programs can be tailored to meet the changing needs of the US produce industry.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture is responsible for promoting and protecting America’s $1 trillion food supply. (The Food and Agriculture Organization) They also provide research and development programs to improve the quality and safety of our food.
